Kristen Sosa's PledgePage

Kristen Sosa, a former Elmhurst resident, currently resides in Bensenville with her first love,
Tony, whom she had married in the Fall of 2002. Adding more joy to their already blessed
life, was the birth of their beautiful daughter, Sophia Rose, on June 28th, 2006.
Unfortunately, this joy was short lived when doctors determined that Kristen was not
producing enough red blood cells. Throughout her pregnancy, Kristen received multiple
blood transfusions and immediately following Sophia’s birth, she had undergone a
number of bone marrow
biopsies. She was referred to a
Hematology Oncologist at
Loyola Medical Center where
Kristen was diagnosed with
myelofibrosis. Myelofibrosis is a
progressive disorder in which
bone marrow is replaced with
scar tissue, leading to severe
anemia. A bone marrow
transplant is needed in which
Kristen’s brother, John Remlinger,
has been confirmed as the
candidate for the transplant.
Before the bone marrow
transplant can be completed,
mandatory tests are required for
Kristen and John. These
specialized tests, biopsies, blood transfusions and surgical procedures will amount to a
large sum of money. Unfortunately, their insurance will not cover all of the medical costs.
The medical bills will exhaust Tony’s wages and due to her illness, Kristen cannot continue
to work.
As friends and family of Kristen and Tony, we ask for your compassion and generosity. In
their time of need, it is important that we support Kristen and Tony in anyway possible.
Every bit is appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
